Activities abound in this urban lake and park community
One of my favorite summer activities is to attend the Seafair Milk Carton Derby. You can spend a couple of hours or a full day watching adults, children, families and businesses compete on the waters of Green Lake in creative and colorful boats they built from milk cartons. Some are more seaworthy than others, but that’s part of the fun! In addition to the races, which are scheduled from 8 am – 4 pm, there are interactive exhibit booths, local food vendors and photo opportunities with a cutthroat Seafair pirate or two. You’ll want to bring your camera, a blanket or chair, refreshments and plenty of sunscreen for a day of fun at Green Lake.
